Like I bought it from a bookstore!  Sep 24, 2009
The book I ordered arrived within 5 days in perfect shape. It was just like I went to the bookstore and bought it...only I didn't have to pay for the gas : )
A Superb Testimony  Sep 17, 2009
This is an inspirational testimony from someone who had a tremendous life changing experience by turning his life over to Jesus Christ.

It is the story of Brian 'Head' Welch, one of the founders of and former lead guitarist of the rock band 'Korn'. His experiences are compelling and powerful. 'Head' is a person who was addicted to methamphetamine and had a very destructive lifestyle in spite of (or possibly because of his fame and wealth). His life transformation is incredible.

I am not a fan of Korn. In fact, I am not sure if I have ever even heard one of their songs, but I thoroughly enjoyed this life story. The appeal of this story will go far beyond just fans of Korn. It is one that may be especially powerful for those who are struggling with an addiction and/or happen to be fans of Korn. This is worth reading for anyone who is interested in a story of a life transformed.

Great book, fast service, best price!  Aug 14, 2009
Our son was given the opportunity to read this book while waiting to go to alcohol treatment. It touched him deeply. He could relate to many things "Head" told about in his life. Our son, too, has turned his life around--back to his family roots--to give direction of his life to the Lord as his Savior, Jesus Christ. This book was not one I would have chosen, but reading it was very interesting. It is real, honest, and no-frills.
Dealing With Inner Demons  Aug 11, 2009
Brian Weltch abruptly left Korn leaving the media circus ahead of the game. Creating hoaxes, downright disrespectful jokes, and the occasional unclear interpretations whether they be supposed interviews or analytical breakdowns. This book clears up much of Weltch's inner turmoil and much much more.

A quick read should summarize everything pretty thoroughly until about the 3/4th mark of the book. Where Weltch begins talking more deeply of change, the reason I say to pay closer attention is in part of the breakthrough and quotes he gives from the bible. Regardless of your standpoint with a higher figure, god or not, this book is one of hope the light at the end of the tunnel rimmed with overhead lamps dulling the night vision. Even I, a person not all too set on one idea, found a lot of genuine appreciation for these beleifes.

Grading the book itself I have to say, it starts with the standard rock star bio where you can tell they are going to be 'bigger then the world'. The whole I was born in X, dealt with X, thus causing X to happen. After the mid length initiation into his world we join him in his altered world of heavy substance abuse. This delusional world shows some of the things we fear most with people we know performing these habitual rituals. Being in a major rock group capable of buying your home outright and probably all of your neighbors makes one only imagine what they could get there hands on. This corrosion through wealth and fame is nothing we haven't seen before, but it is an intimate enough experience to make it more chilling. Most behind closed door stories are to make one appear more epic or as a higher figure 'i survived through this!'. Weltch makes it clear his excessive nature may be highlighted with a lighter more fun gloss, but it becomes a real nightmare soon enough.

Nearing the end of the book religion becomes second nature in wording. Many reviews across the internet claim it is not preachy... At first it doesn't seem that way. It is indeed preachy, but not too forceful to leave a bad taste in ones mouth. It's just the overall euphoria (much like the drug induced sections) is bound so strongly like the spine of this book that it is only going to come off sharp. What good would it be anyways for a turn around to only be dull enough to make one want to revert to a life of destruction? In the book you'll find many of his faild attempts to leave his old life behind. He needed something stronger, for him it was god. Extremeties like this are what make the book less drastic (as one will see extremeness is a lifestyle almost) and more dynamic. A yin and yang, a piscean hooked on a line with its other self.

Pros: finally some insight, redemption always makes for a good marketing pitch, genuine core

Cons: drug stories become a bit too familiar and treads on the boring mark, some don't like X beleife enough to follow though with the whole mindedness prevails.
Great  Jul 18, 2009
I hate to read books but this book everyone should read. Korn fan or not.
